Merry Christmas.

Growing up, my Dad would always prompt us to write detailed letters to Santa Clause on Christmas Eve. We would write out questions for Santa and then every Christmas morning, we'd find a detailed letter in return, with answers to our questions. Then the tradition died (we grew up). But this year, I decided to bring the tradition back.

Dear Santa, Thanks for all the bomb gifts you gave us. We still owe ya big for the dollhouse. Just wonderin'... how has the economic downturn affected your North Pole operation? I hope the housing crunch didn't damage property values in your neighborhood. What tips do you have for thriving in this harsh economic climate?

Santa, you're a guy I feel I can trust, and as such, I value your opinion. What are your thoughts on all the potential candidates for the 2012 presidential election? I would appreciate a pros and cons list for each and every viable contender. Can't wait to see your DETAILED and thorough response to my letter!

It was suspiciously in my dad's handwriting.

I'm thankful Christmas was on a Sunday this year because it gave us the opportunity to spend the morning at church, reflecting on the gift of Jesus Christ. I'm grateful for Christ and for the peace and comfort that he offers. What a wonderful day to celebrate Him!

And then, we put our pajamas on and tore into our gifts this afternoon. My parents bought me a space heater for my apartment! Bless their souls. So really, today was heart-warming in more than one way.
