The cure: a plane ticket to stay at your best friend's house for four days.
At first you will be incredibly sick from the plane ride, but it will prove worth it.
Eating saltines on the breezy back porch with her family and dog is therapeutic.
Ordinary grocery store runs should include laughter and chatter. A trip to the card aisle to discover the creepiest cards ever is not required but definitely encouraged.
this was a happy birthday card. I'M SERIOUS.
Car rides should be utilized for dancing.
Hearing your friend share her last testimony in church before she leaves to preach the Gospel in Taiwan strengthens you and lifts your spirits. And chatting with BYU friends at her house afterwards reminds you that you do actually have a social life. (or at least, once did).
Sleeping in late and then playing with the dog on the grass in pajamas is essential. So is the cinnamon roll for breakfast afterwards. Missionary shopping together is 100 times more fun than missionary shopping with mothers (even though we both LOVE our mothers) because you can get away with being immature.
A temple trip together is special. It strengthens the friendship and brings even more peace to your heart. A lunch date and then Costco trip afterwards for trying on glasses is the cherry on top.
And lastly, the hug at the airport. You say to each other, "see you in the MTC!" and then board a plane with a happier heart than when you arrived.
Overall, it is an amazingly great cure. I recommend it whole-heartedly.
*wink*
Thank you to the Jarvis family for your love! You all rock.
