Hey guys. No, I'm not audaciously blogging from the MTC. I'm still heeerrreee! What up.
There I was. Last Sunday night. I had given my much-stressed-over talk in church. I said goodbye to family and friends. My suitcases were... not packed. But with enough effort, they could have been.
And then I foolishly decided to stand up from a couch. Oh stupid me, such reckless behavior!
I felt a huge snap in my right knee and then calmly assessed the situation by saying "oh no oh no oh no oh no" a million times in my head.
It happened right in the middle of a big open house we were having at my house, so I found my dad and went into the other room with him where we discovered that I couldn't bend my knee without... okay, almost crying. So then I just went back out to the par-tay and pretended nothing happened. Although I felt pretty awkward, because I couldn't bend my knee.
Long story short: I can't leave on my mission until my knee is healed. We have been to three doctors and finally liked the third one. (the Olympic doctor guy was a HUGE letdown, ugghhhh. I was so psyched). Luckily I got an MRI yesterday and saw a proficient doctor today with a really legit rubber model of a knee.
I basically have a tiny little knee cap that got tweaked wrong and isn't sliding in its groove any more. It looks like this delay will be a little bit longer than I hoped, but hopefully physical therapy will get me on my way soon within six weeks or so!!
Until then, I'll still be around. And I'll probably keep blogging. And sitting on my couch, watching the Olympics. And continuing to have NO social life. And maybe vacuuming, occasionally. And dreaming of FINALLY being a sister missionary, someday soon.
But let's just focus on the fact that the awkward stories will still be rollin' on this blog for at least a while longer! And one thing is for sure: in my life, there is no shortage of awkward stories. It's really a mixed blessing.

I feel so so so bad for you!!! I feel like I have the same problem as you do, as far as your knee goes. Except Doctors can't find anything wrong with my knee. I hope you get healed fast so you can get out and do the work!!!
I'm so sorry Amy! That totally stinks...isn't it crazy how such a small thing like standing up from a couch can change your life in an instant? Guess Heavenly Father needed you living normal life for a few weeks more. If this happened, it means you can be just as good of use to him right where you are than in the field at this moment. So don't be discouraged, it'll be okay! Sometimes stuff really stinks but it always happens for a reason :D
I hope you get better soon!
awe! praying for you girl!!
