Its Alarming Really...

I struggle with a lot of things, I think that's pretty clear... forming coherent sentences, eating spaghetti, remembering what floor I'm on when I get into an elevator...

But perhaps the thing I struggle with the most is waking up in the morning, because I am most definitely a complete failure at it.

I have church at 9:00 am... I love church and always have a desire to go and be on time and look like I DIDN'T just comb my hair with an eggbeater after putting on clothes from a dumpster. But sometimes this is not the case. Nay... oftentimes this is not the case. Nay... hardly ever is this the case.

Last night I decided to do something about it. I decided to stay home on a Saturday night, go to bed early, and set three alarms for Sunday morning. Take THAT life, I was gonna be on time to church and I was gonna look HOT! Boo ya!

Wakeup time this morning: 8:33 a.m.

I turned off all three alarms in my sleep.

I feel like my readers need to appreciate the dexterity that this entails:

My phone is a touch screen, and to turn off the alarm, one must press firmly on the small floating orb that appears on the screen, get a firm grip on that with one finger, and drag it at just the right angle through an arc.

I know this picture rivals Van Gogh... you are welcome for introducing this beauty into your life.

If I can perform such impressive feats of skill in my sleep, I think I'm going to start taking my exams and going on dates while asleep also. Things can only improve.

What tips do you have for waking up in the morning?

That is impressive! I don't have any hints at taming your sabotaging sleeping alter ego. But I have better mornings now that I stopped hitting the snooze button. Now, instead of sleeping through snooze, I give myself 15 minutes to catch up on gossip or facebook on my phone. Then I'm still warm and don't have to move, but I'm mentally preparing for my forced rising.

Good luck! Next Sunday you will be GORGEOUS! ;)

Oh my gosh I have the hardest times waking up too! My phone is a touch screen as well but I've learned that if I just press the end button then it turns off and I don't have to do the little arc. Does your phone have any buttons? But ya I'm like you..I wake up and somehow it's like 15 minutes before I have to leave. NOT COOL. haha;)

Hahahaha I totally have this problem too. I saw a thing for deaf people that shakes the entire bed to wake them up. Maybe something to invest in?

You should write about other things you do in your sleep... like converse about the weather ;)

FreeFlying- that is a great idea! I love the idea of giving myself 10 or 15 minutes to lay in bed... we'll see if it works.

Kailee- don't you HATE that moment you look at your clock and have a heart attack and then realize its gonna be a ponytail day? Haha worst moment of the day!

Marlee- Hahaha... I think that device would seriously make me wet the bed!

Sar- Oh noooo!
