Don't Be a Hater.

We've all seen them: the sleeping zombie college students on random benches and curled up in corners around campus. Feeling perky ourselves, we walk by and notice the drool, the mouth hanging open, the way they use their backpack as a pillow to cushion them from the cold hard bench.

"humph." we say.

They look silly. Its odd to sleep in public. Everyone does it, but we don't like to admit we've been there and done that when we see how weird it looks.

Today, I found a cozy, cushy bench to finish reading a book for my lit class on. My eyes drooped, my head bobbed, and I found myself pulling the hood of my parka over my eyes, turning my back to the world, and curling up against the wall in an empty corner of a quiet basement to catch a few zzz's. I felt warm and safe and I fell asleep so deeply that I dreamed amazing, happy dreams.

I slept for 45 minutes. Don't be a hater. It was awesome.

In related news, I believe my body was thrown into deep confusion by daylight savings time because lately it has wanted to go to sleep at 9 pm and wake up at 10 am and it gets mad at me when I don't let it. I figure if I want a life I should probably NOT sleep 13 hours a day, so instead I am just drowsy all the time and sleep on campus on random benches.

I figure it is better than trying hard drugs. Although some Dr. Pepper would be helpful.

Where is the weirdest place you have ever slept?? Time to 'fess up readers!

I just realized I wasn't even a follower of your blog! Ha and I do it all the time too. I think I've slept on a bathroom couch before haha. College is great. We really all do live like homeless people. ;)

I have never fallen asleep I am too nervous I will be there all day, but I saw two people lying on the sidewalk with their backpacks as pillows today. It was epic but they did look slightly homeless. :)

Hi. So I normally don't sleep in weird places... except you know everyone has slept in those little cubicles in the library. I know I've had many good dreams there.
Also, I just wanted to tell you that I love your blog and am certainly proud to be the cousin of a great writer. You should follow my blog too! melnash.blogspot.com!
