Five Awesome Things About Being Sick.

So it turns out that when you barely sleep or eat quality food for two straight weeks because you are taking seven classes and you have no free time, you get sick. It's pretty much inevitable.

And while you once barely had time in your schedule to floss your teeth, you suddenly have to make room in your schedule to hibernate because you cannot function anymore.

Sad, I know. I think its a verifiable fact that I have the world's weakest immune system.

But, just like everything else in life, sickness has it's silver lining. Here is mine:

1. SLEEP:

Sleeping 18 hours a day, two days in a row. Mostly because your head hurts so bad that you can't really do anything else. But STILL. Awesome.

2. Having an excuse to take 4 showers a day.

The hot steam feels so good. Therefore, I have been jumping in the shower before my hair has even dried from the last one. When else can I do that? Awesome.

3. Learning that my auto-pilot skills are bomb.

Today, I desperately needed juice and heavy medicine, so I drove to Smiths in a sickness-induced haze. When I parked the car, I stopped and thought, "How did I even get here?" Both scary, and awesome. Way to get me there safely, muscle memory!

4. Listening to Adele for 6 hours straight.

It's like medicine for the soul.

5. Homework in bed.

Cozy covers, warm blankets all around me, cold juice at my side, giant box of tissues handy, laptop on my legs making power points and writing papers like a fiend tonight. Bonus: the lap top gives off so much warmth.

So far, I've been surviving this cold that I haven't had time in my schedule for. I'm really starting to worry, though, because although I've technically managed to miss the last two days of life, this week is not going to be forgiving starting tomorrow. I've been popping cold medicine, vitamin C pills, chugging orange juice, sipping V8, piling on the blankets, and taking steamy showers.

trust me. I've tried this method. And I still have a cold. DANG.

What are your secrets to busting colds fast?

Feel better!! I am also just getting over an awful cold!! Not fun AT all! I have no helpful hints, but I hope someone does! I think a cold is just something you have to let run its course (unless it turns into a sinus infection in which case they give you meds haha!)

Feel better!!!

amy, if you can create some way of breathing in oxygen while doing it, sleep with a blanket over your head. the virus that causes the cold doesnt grow very well in hot temperatures... but i wouldnt actually recommend this since you would asphyxiate yourself before the cold was gone!
