This morning I got a text from my older sister that said: "happy star wars day!"
I was like, what the heck??? Oh yeah, May Fourth. GOT IT.
And then I took a few solemn minutes to ponder the effect that Star Wars has had on my life:
I thought about watching Star Wars movies when I was home sick from school. In fact, cherry cough drops remind of Star Wars.
I thought about playing with pretend lightsabers.
I thought about putting my hair in buns over my ears.
I though about the autographed picture of Hayden Christensen my dad gave me for Christmas one year.
I thought about that time our dog was an Ewok for Halloween.
And then I thought about the summer when was about 15 and I locked myself in a room for an entire day and watched all six Star Wars movies back to back to back to back to back to back.
And then I realized why I was so lacking in swag back then. Just kidding! I was pretty cool in those days.
Shoutout to George Lucas for my childhood memories! Also, thank you George, for casting Hayden Christensen as Anakin, because I kinda STILL have a crush on him.
Oh Hayden, I would join the dark side for you....

funny kid! I still can't believe you did that movie marathon. also, right after I sent you that text I remembered I was working with a guy who had a lisp and I probably shouldn't say anything else about May 4th being star wars day...
