Generic Life Update

NO.  I did not get my mission call today.  Read on.

The past few months have been a little difficult and characterized by uncertainty.  So if you didn't notice, my blog didn't include many life updates during that time.  But now that I am marching forward with my life plans (mission) and announcing it to the world, I thought I would write a generic life update post!  Cool? Cool.

(I don't know about you, but I am pretty much always curious about other people's lives. And so maybe you are too. Also, I need something to occupy myself while the thought of my mission call arriving in the mailbox tomorrow jostles around in my panicked mind. )

So, after winter semester ended at BYU in April, I chose to stay around and take Spring classes.  My dear friend Ashley W. invited me to be her last roomie ever before she married her soulmate Derek, which was very generous and kind.  So of course I did, because that apartment rocks.  This meant I moved for the 4th time in one year, which was no fun, but totally worth it.

Spring term was an interesting time.  I had enormous amounts of free time, which was good and bad.  I only had three hours of night classes each day, but the classes were painfully stupid and hard to sit through.  Luckily I had awesome friends to get me through.  (Shout-out to Becky and Katie! even though they don't read this blog. I shouted out anyway).  I had tons of homework though, and I was emotionally unstable pretty much every day.  Dear Ashley: sorry I was so cranky pretty much the entire time I lived with you.

I was SO HAPPY that I stayed around Provo for another six weeks, because I was able to spend quality time with many of my bestest friendz, and got to stay in my favorite ward ever for just a little longer.  It was so great.

Meet Kelsey.  She was my visiting teacher freshman year.  And she STILL stays in touch/ asks about my life/ takes me out to eat/ rocks my life regularly.  Best visiting teacher ever? YES. One night she took me to the Malt Shoppe for dinner right after I got out of class. And I was more than okay with it.

not our best pic. but there's a lotta love and that's what counts.

Oh Kirsi.  What would I do without this girl in my life... but really. Even though she was super busy touring with the folk dancers, she still made time to hang out with me. Which was nice, because she is leaving on her mission to Taiwan in a month. (ahh!).  We went to a Rooftop Concert once, and we felt pretty hip.

This is my friend Ashley Mc. but you can call her A-Shizzle.  She's kinda a jerk when I'm trying to take her picture.... and I can say that because she got too popular and gorgeous and never reads this blog anymore. (Jerk).

Okay, okay... this is Ashley again.  She was there for my first Chick-fil-a experience last month.  It was divine. The manager gave me a free chocolate chip cookie and he won my heart over for life.

Spring term rolled to an end.  I was A) ecstatic that my classes from hell were over, and B) sad that my days in Provo were coming to a close.

Then my big sis came to stay with me for a few days before I moved to Vegas.  We ate, ate, ate, went to Salt Lake, painted ceramics, and ran in and out of my apartment because we were afraid the rabid bat would fall on our heads. Oh, and we went to a Pentatonix concert.  It was overcrowded but spectacular.

Then, sadly, MOVING DAY CAME. Thank you to all the wonderful people who helped me pack and hugged me goodbye.  Thanks for breaking my heart with your love.

A-shizzle is stellar at helping me pack /slash/ entertaining me with juicy gossip while I pack.
  I can't remember if I told Ashley that I wouldn't post this.
If I said that, I am a liar because I love it way too much.

Goodbye forever Park Plaza apartments!  This picture is awful on 11 different levels. Ha.

I don't think people realize how hard moving home from college is.  Newsflash: IT IS FREAKIN' HARD.  I know you are thinking, "Aw.. free food and board, a washer and dryer that actually clean your clothes, and around the clock love and support??? Poor baby!"

I know, it's true.  But it's also really sad that 98% of my friends are 388 miles north of me while I wander around my parents house everyday vacuuming. I was really loving the college life.

Here is what I've been up to in the week I've been home:

CLEANING. And unpacking like a fool.  I haven't moved completely back into this house for two years. So I made sure to unpack every last thing within the first two days. I was proud. You probably don't care. But I care.

I also eat a lot because there is so much amazing food here. AND I CAN EAT FOOD EVEN IF IT DOESN'T HAVE MY NAME IN SHARPIE.  #miracles.
Parmesan crusted chicken. I cooked it for the fam.   Gourmet lunch EVERY DAY.  A stocked fridge is beautiful.

TANNING.  'nuff said.
this was at 11 am.  #lasvegasrocks

My family keeps it real.  My dad invented Leaf-Blower Ping Pong. And Sarah likes to do experimental hairstyles on me. And I'm more than okay with both ventures.

If you read all of this, you are crazy. I love you.  Life is good.  And tomorrow is going to be the most intense day of my life.

MISSION CALL OPENING!!!  breeathe breeatthe breaaathe.

Yikes, I feel you on the moving home thing. YES it is great, but also difficult coming back from so long living on your own around friends and such. But the full fridge - best part, haha. I'm jealous of your heat & tanning opportunities! Raining and 9 degrees C (48 F) where I am. Grossss! Oh and that dinner you made looks divine.

I don't know the whole story.. but certainly you had some opportunities to complain and be in the dumps.. but your blog never showed it!
I need to learn from you.. my blog is becoming a depressing thing to read.
Loved reading about your "generic" life!
