While I was separating eight egg yolks from egg whites, I stood there and pondered about about eggs. Probably for a solid ten minutes. It was a meaningful experience, and I recommend it.
Some conclusions:
1. It is somewhat creepy that we eat eggs, because they come from the inside of chickens. How do chickens even form those suckers?? I have no idea.
2. How weird is it that the same food item is both a fried breakfast food, and an essential ingredient in most baked goods?
3. Separating eggs is really gross.
4. Eight egg yolks in one bowl is just a whole lotta egg yolks.
That's what was on my mind today. You're welcome for sharing. And in case you are wondering, the cake turned out amazingly delicious, eight egg yolks and all! It was fancy. Oh, and happy birthday to Sarah on Friday!!! Nineteen, woot woot.

I am highly anticipating my next post, which will be entitled FORT 2012. (We built an epic fort in our family room and kept it up for a week, it was the. best. thing. ever.) But I will save that for when I have the time to do it justice. :) I'm off to Provo for three days. peace!

I agree, it's pretty bizarre how chickens are able to produce eggs! I remember a teacher once describing eggs as the chicken's version of packing a lunch for their baby (since once they lay it they can't feed the chick until it hatches)... which makes eating them that much weird for me. But not as weird as drinking a cow's milk! What? So strange.
p.s. That last picture of the slice of cake looks delicious!
