Air Force One

Because Nevada is a swing state, we get lots of love from the nation's politicians. It's a blessing and a curse, mostly depending on whether you get stuck in a traffic jam when the president is in town and they shut down all the roads.

Yesterday, President Obama came into town yet again, so my momma and I decided to have a little adventure and watch Air Force One land at the airport!!  Let's just say... we had the time to spare. (wink)

The airport is right down the road from us, so we just drove down to Sunset and parked across from the runway. There was a crowd of spectators lining up the sidewalks, and we saw police cars patrolling the area.

We waited a fairly long time, but once we noticed that no planes had taken off or landed for a while, we figured the POTUS was comin'! We watched the most famous airplane in America land right in front of us!! It was pretty exciting. At least more exciting than sitting in my house with a crippled knee, which is what I would have been doing otherwise. (keeping it real)

I waved to Obama but I don't think he waved back... rude. Some people were crying... that was a little alarming to me. But, hey, I cried when I listened to the Killers' new single for the first time, so who am I to judge??!

Crazy plane-stalking Las Vegans.

if you had a magnifying glass right now, you would see Air Force One to the left of me in this picture.
Since you don't.... aren't I cute??
yes Ashley, I am wearing your old skirt. ;)

Having pretty much unlimited free time is usually not that fun.... except that I get to have random adventures on weekday afternoons! With my mom. #winning

And now I can say that I watched Air Force One land.  I'm getting cultured.
