Celebrity Role Models

Sometimes I have slight obsessions with celebrities.  Not in creepy ways, just in ways like: "I love everything about this person and someday I will be just like her!"

So slightly creepy, I guess.

But anyway, my celebrity role models have evolved over the years.

When I was around 14, it was Reese Witherspoon.

Reese is smart, classy, funny, wholesome and bright. She's a rockin' mama and a go-getter! Duh, I was going to grow up to be like her. (Except like half as perky... let's be real here...)

Several years later.....Enter: Emily Blunt.

Ummmm..... why is this woman perfect???  I like that she is classy and smart and funny... .but she's got a lot of snark. And she's British, which.... I guess would be hard for me to pull off, but I could definitely try. AND she's married to John Krasinski, which, hello! is just amazing.

AND THEN of course Royal Wedding 2011 came around... (still obsessed with it).... and clearly Kate Middleton became an important figure in my life.

Do I even need to explain?  no.  THIS WOMAN IS THE CLASSIEST PRETTIEST PERSON EVER.

But even with all my admiration of the above-mentioned classy individuals... there was something missing. None of them quite fit the mold for "everything I want to be in life."And then, just last week, it hit me. I realized that there is a woman on earth who encompasses every single quality that I someday want to have.

She is fictional, but this does not phase me.

Allow me to introduce, Clair Huxtable:

If you have not seen the Cosby show, close your computer and re-evaluate your life this instant. It is quality television!!!  And if you have seen the Cosby show, you would know that CLAIR IS AWESOME.

To sum up, she was smart, spunky, and brave.  She was a no-nonsense lawyer on the show, as well as being a goofy, fun momma.

She was a kind person but she also knew how to get her way.  AND she wore really crazy clothes (oh wait, that's just because it was the 80s...)

So basically the point of this blog post is that Clair Huxtable is my current role model in life. Maybe someday I will work up to being articulate and spunky and super confident, but for now I think I will start with buying really big earrings.

Yes, I aspire to be her too. Also, why no "e" at the end of her name?!

This is perfect. Love this post. I have also loved each of the women you mention at a time in my life.
